a new light ~ christmas

This was RMA Music's first album, released in 1993. Many of the arrangements were written during Richard's college years and updated here. The album is less 'realistic' instrumentally since this was Richard's first experiment

with orchestral duplication and the available sounds were less sophisticated.

This album was THE TOP selling Christmas album at the old MP3.com in December, 1998!

TRACKS:

1) 'Merry Christmas, Mr. Britten' ('We Wish You...').  2) Medley: 'Fanfare', Gesu Bambino', and 'O Come, All Ye Faithful'. 3) 'Silent Night'.  4) 'Little Drummer Boy'. 5) 'Glory to God' (from Vespers by Rachmaninoff). 6) 'The Bells of Christmas'. 7) 'Carol of the Bells'.  8) Medley: 'We Three Kings', 'Deck the Halls', 'God Rest Ye...', and 'Angels We Have Heard...'.      9) 'O Come, O Come Emanuel'.  10) 'Troika' (from Lt. Kije by Prokofiev). 11) 'Sleigh Ride' by Richard Audd.

REVIEWS/COMMENTS

"Audd's debut opus is as captivating and engaging as it is brilliant... [a] full, rich and bristling sound..."
Jeff Newman, syndicated reviewer, Dec. 1998
"This is definitely Disney-esque. The most interesting places in these songs is the point of departure from the original or traditional old standard...makes you feel a different way about the same song."
Daniel Mandel, TRANSONIQ HACKER, Portland, OR.

"...Sleigh Ride seems like is ready to lay in a Spielberg flick right now...it's great!"

Tom Jordan, Wired for Sound, Ohio

Somewhere Over...
This album is completely instrumental. It is a compilation of 70 years of Broadway and motion picture music that has special meaning to the gay community. It was released in 1994 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Stonewall rebellion. The late Jerry Herman  purchased his copy!

TRACKS:

1) Overture: 'Anything Goes', 'Puttin' on the Ritz', & 'Cabaret'.  2) 'Over the Rainbow'(Wizard of  Oz).  3) 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road'.  4) 'Music of the Night'. 5) 'Smile'.  6) 'Before the Parade  Passes By'.  7) 'Back in Baby's Arms'.  8) 'If I Loved You'.  9) 'My Funny Valentine'.  10) 'Send in the Clowns'.  11) 'I Am What I Am'.  12) 'Somewhere' (West Side Story).

"Four Stars! THE Gay Album! Each selection is crafted with the detailed ear of a true orchestrator. With surprising panache, this one man symphony has produced a splashy, classy platter of pop, Broadway and Tin Pan Alley favorites."
Will Grega, OUTSOUNDS, 1996
"Impressive and exquisite...It's the ideal stocking stuffer."
Jeff Newman, syndicated reviewer, Dec. 1998
"If a CD can be worn out...this one will."
Marc D., Alexandria, Virginia
