Alterations of a Theme |
| Alterations of a Theme was originally titled Fanfare, Chorale, and March. Since the final section is not really a "march", I decided to re-title the work to something more attention-grabbing. |
| The piece was written in 1966 at the age of 19 as my first attempt in dealing with a theme and its variations. The entire work is based on the opening statement by the solo cornet. |
| The work was performed on three occasions in 1966 and 1968 by the Oklahoma Baptist University Band with myself conducting on two of those concerts. |
